Karolina Kawiaka designs buildings and everyday objects, makes installations, drawings and photographs investigating the relationship of natural and man made environments in relation to infrastructure for energy and water. She was trained as an artist and architect with architectural commissions in Australia, Michigan, Maine, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont, and has had her drawings shown in New York, Maryland and Vermont. She has work in the New Britain Museum of American Art collection and was nominated for a Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award and named a finalist for the Art of Change Competition in 2008.
